Mission Statement and Organizational History
The Arizona Palestine Solidarity Alliance is a solidarity, anti-militarization group working to build a regional movement opposing the ongoing US/Israeli partnership that supports the brutal occupation of the Palestinian people and lands, and the increasing militarization of the US/Mexico border region. As a coalition of groups and individuals working together, we are part of the global movement for a campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel until it complies with International Law, respects Palestinian fundamental rights of freedom, equality and self-determination and ends its occupation and colonization of Arab lands. In addition, we strongly oppose the militarization of the US border and support border justice and indigenous rights and power.
Organized in autumn of 2014, the first activities included organizing teach-ins on Palestine (Palestine 101), Zionism, occupation and its effects on U.S. social movements, the Tohono O'odham and other indigenous people along the border, migrant justice, and Palestine including movements against militarization. We sponsored a workshop on BDS and the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel on the University of Arizona campus.
Other activities included participation in Tucson’s All Souls Procession, fund raising events, films, presentations and lectures and a field trip to the border to bring attention to the role Israel plays in the militarization of the border with Elbit surveillance towers. The focus in recent months has been on the Tucson STOP G4S campaign which is a broad based coalition of more than 15 local organizations campaigning to end G4S contracts in Tucson. Tucson STOP G4S information can be found here:

Who We Are
We are partners in a regional effort to expose and oppose the US/Israeli partnership in the new wave of militarization of the Southern AZ/border region and Tohono O'odham lands. Our network connects movements in Southern Arizona with the Palestinian-led, international BDS movement http://bdsmovement.net/
that has recently achieved numerous successes in strategically opposing the ongoing US/Israeli partnership. As part of this international movement, we are working to dismantle systems of militarized control that create deep inequalities in our region and around the world.
Indigenous, migrant, and other anti-colonial, anti-racist, anti-militarization efforts in Southern Arizona are a part of our coalition. We focus on educating our communities about the connections between justice in Southern Arizona and justice in Palestine, seeking collaborative efforts with social movements that oppose police and border patrol violence. In all this, we practice and promote a vision of interconnected struggles for collective liberation.
